Scrapping stuff!

Well, I think that I've found my blogging problem. I feel that I need to have a 'big' post of things, with witty sayings and pictures, and stuff. So maybe if I do one everytime I think of something, it would work out better. =)

So, first scrappy thing that I've run across today as I'm cleaning out my emails...

Creative Scrappers is having their Sketchfest 2, which is a great time to get into the scrapping mood and get pages down! I am going to try to do some of them this time around, but have to 'block' out time to get them done. Will try my best and post them when and if I get any done.

See... that wasn't so bad now, was it? ;)

Friday Fill-In!

Well another week went by without me updating....again. You'd think I'd remember as I sit in front of my computer all week playing games. But thought I'd get the newest Friday fill in done....

1. My stomach is full of biscuits and gravy!
2. Turkey and gravy is what I ate the most of on Thursday.
3. The yard is a mess of leaves, weeds and overgrown plants.
4. Snuggling with Randy is where I'd rather be at any given time.
5. The smell of turkey reminds me of moms kitchen.
6. A kids free weekend is what I need right now!
7. And as for the weekend, tonight I'm looking forward to _____, tomorrow my plans include _____ and Sunday, I want to _____! Hmmmmmm missed those, didn't I? But thats ok - will do better this week!

Friday Fill-In!

Well, I finally caught up on the wonderful blogs I love to read, and on Emilie Ahern's blog..... Emilie Ahern .... that she found this wonderful site Friday Fill-Ins.

So here's my take of this past Friday's fill ins....

1. The last band I saw live was Trans-Siberian Orchestra.
2. What I look forward to most on Thanksgiving is turnips. (if you don't celebrate thanksgiving, insert your favorite holiday)
3. My Christmas/holiday shopping is just about to start on Black Friday.
4. Thoughts of chores fill my head.
5. I wish I could wear that old black slinky dress again.
6. Bagpipes make my heart sing.
7. And as for the weekend, tonight I'm looking forward to seeing Karl, tomorrow my plans include vegging out and Sunday, I want to start on cleaning the house for the holidays!

How great is this? Just some random thoughts to fill out - to keep track of the normal every day things in our lives!

Catching up (Day 2)...........

So the next morning, Ashley and John-Alex are up and out for school at 7:30 in the morning. I'm jet lagged... hehehehe.... but not as bad as Matthew. Not sure what was up with the shirt on the head, but that's my boy in the morning!

I was up already, but not as early as Justin. He was raring to go... since there was snow on the ground and he wanted to play. So bundled him off and sent him on the back patio for now. The house doesn't really have a back yard right now. It's all just trees and boulders. So J played on the deck for a bit, throwing off huge chunks of snow below. Which was good since it needed to be cleaned off for the weekend party anyway, just in case the house got over crowded, or for people to go and get some air. He then went down to the yard' to try to make snow angels, but no such luck. The snow and an icy coating on it, so it didn't work out very well =(

But not due to his lack of trying, that's for sure.

I was very surprised for how long he stayed outside, but he seemed to be having a blast. Of course, I didn't bring enough pants for him to get wet everyday and throw on a new one, so as soon as he came in, off they were and hanging by the fire. It worked out well, as he put on another pair to play later on in the day and when he was ready to come back in, the first pair were dry =)

Well this day, October 30th, is also my birthday! So it was great to hang out with the family and not have to worry or stress. Just to sit and do what ever I wanted. Which was nothing! I didn't get out of my pj's and hung out and read and vegged. It was very nice. =)

Ashely though was not feeling well at school, and John needed to pick her up from school and take her to the doctor. She needed to get blood work done, so she insisted that it be her dad. =)

When she got home about lunch time, There was package that showed up for her.... FLOWERS! Seems my thoughtful, loving, considerate love sent her flowers for her confirmation on Saturday, since he couldn't make it. Oh was she smiling! And what gorgeous orchids they were. The light from Bebba's window in her dining room is awesome for pictures and they really showed how beautiful these flowers were.

Dad and Bebba showed me how to make Butternut Squash soup, which I then gobbled down 2 bowls for my lunch. YUM, YUM, YUM! I wrote the recipe down and vowed to try it out at home.

I'm really loving this soup! It was easy to make and very flavorful. Thinking it's just my new favorite dish for the fall.
Then, another knock on the door... and more FLOWERS! This time for me! hehehehehe They were awesome!

Such beautiful colors.... such beautiful flowers!
Such a wonderful man that I love! When I left PA though, they were very much still alive, so I asked Dad to take some and dry them for me so that I can remember how beautiful they always were.
While we were just hanging out, we noticed that the turkeys had come to visit again. Justin was very excited and he and John-Alex went out the deck to fee them left over stale bread to try to get them to come closer. That is one great thing about Bebba's house - all the wonderful wildlife and nature. I have yet to see the bear that comes to visit, but John has able to get some pictures of him. Just wish he'd come to visit while I'm there!

Catching up (Day 1)...........

Well it's been a hectic three weeks. But going to start off with Oct 29th and work my way through, cause well, it's my blog and I can.... =)

Our trip to PA was awesome to say the least.

We flew in on Oct 29th, which happens to be my Dad's birthday, since the flights looked better. Was hesitant at first since I'd have to take the boys out of school another day, but decided to do it anyway. It was going to be awhile that I could have a semi-vacation with the new job starting the following Tuesday.

The morning was working out great... Matt got through securty fine and headed to the Alaska flight. Justin and I got through and waited for the Contential flight..... until 10 minutes before Matt's flight was supopse to take off. He didn't have his flight benefit card. Of course, I wouldn't have it... why would I? So there goes the phone calls trying to find his father to get him one ASAP. Luckily that all worked out and he got on the flight.

The flights into Newark worked out great and Matthew landed about 45 minutes after Justin and I did. Perfect timing! In truth was thinking that there was some help with F&K on that. After taking the airbus from terminal C to terminal A and finding Matthew in the crowds (thank goodness for cell phones!), we waited for John to pick us up on the curb. He picked up an extra shift that day so that he would be at the airport anyway and not waste a good day. He drove up, with someone in the front seat with him. At first was thinking it was a coworker he was dropping off but nope.... it was DAD! WOO HOO!! What a great surprise for both of us! He didn't know either, just in case we couldn't get into town. And it was his birthday too! What a great surprise!
So the boys got to spend some time with "Pops". It's been so many years that they've seen him, that it was a good thing we were able to make it in earlier.

Debra had dinner ready for us - 2 kinds of meatlof and mashed potatotes and all the fixin's. We then sang Happy Birthday to Dad on his apple pie. It was a really great first night. We sat around and caught up and laughed. (as well as we did on the hour and half ride home from the airport!)
That pretty much ended our first day/night there are it was already past 9:00 ECT and the little ones needed to rest up.
